One Structure. One
Organic Space
Changing
to a new insight of having my artefact as one structure instead of a compound
of buildings
That
space could facilitate creative gallery, or even a food related hall inspired be the sea. The vital
point, it’s a multi-function space, invites users from all ages to experience
it.
Inspiration
of the 'repeating patterns' started with the Loomi lamp templates
Looking
to more natural organic patterns to repeat….
As I'm
a diver myself, and I dove 100’s of dives, I got inspired again by the shell,
which I obtain (Abalone
shell), after the Fractal shell as it was my first inspiration.to build up acompunds of Vaults.
That Abalone shell (Mother of Pearl) has holes on its body, inspired me to have that as light source of the
space and for airflow (ventilation).
Thinking ethical, when thinking organic design.
The new
space that I design, is a mirroring the shape of the shell, to have double
shell space alike and
keep the holes to be on its roof.
An
organic space made out of one structure, bearing in mind that is the ‘Repeating
Patterns’ within the
shell itself, is the growing segments of its body.
I like it - You could look at (probably already have) the fibonacci sequence to generate organic shell shapes also. It would also work well as a modular design.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Fibonacci sequence could be the mathematical solution of the repeating pattern, that could be taken in consideration next.
ReplyDeleteHi Sahar. Fibonacci and the Golden Section offer some interesting ways forward as they are at the borderline of natural forms and scientific interpretation. This means you have two ways of moving forward in producing designs; artistic interpretation or mathematical computation.
ReplyDeleteIt would be worth looking for Fibonacci and the Golden Section in the Art and Architecture database and see what shows up.
It's fascinating, I also will look at the Golden section at our database ! I will see what can offer to my project. I do prefer the artistic interpretation though, and that's how I started.
