Jacques Rougerie's floating research center influenced by manta rays
‘city of meriens’ is a bionic concept which is shaped liked a real manta ray created by Jacques Rougerie architecture. this international oceanographic university will be drifting in the major ocean currents and aim to host researchers, teachers and students all over the world during very long periods. ‘city of meriens’ is designed to be a floating scientific city entirely dedicated to the observation and analysis of marine biodiversity, and is meant to follow the multidisciplinary programs developed by the seaorbiter’s network of sentinels in 2050. with a total length of 900 meters and a width of 500 meters, this mobile city can accommodate in its interior lagoon research vessels of different sizes (up to 90 meters long), as well as seaorbiters which would act as a hive that a number of marine and submarine vehicles and air navigation devices would use as a point of departure.fully autonomous through the use of renewable marine energy, and respecting the principles of sustainable development with its zero waste program, the ‘city of meriens’ is designed to integrate aquaculture breeding farms on both sides of its interior lagoon’s access channel, and hydroponic greenhouses at the ends of its wings. at a height of 60 meters – but the lowest level at least 120 meters deep – it could accommodate up to 7000 people on several levels including lecture halls, classrooms, laboratories, living areas, cultural relaxation and sports zones

Breathing Spaces

 As Nature acts! we would like to imitate that actions in our Design, believing that would be
                                                        "The Ideal Solution"

Taking insights from the natural systems

Nature runs on Sunlight
Nature uses only the Energy it needs
Nature fits Form to Function
Nature Recycles every thing
Nature rewards Cooperation
Nature curbs Excesses from within
Nature banks on Diversity
Nature demands local Expertise.............by: Janine Benyus, 1997

As I'm continually looking for new and innovative ways to create beautiful, liveable spaces that are environmentally responsible and resilient. Increasingly, those on the leading edge are looking to Nature as a source of inspiration. I came to an idea,. after reading an article about the octopus. as a diver minded individual, and all what belongs to the Sea inspires me.What was attractive to me about the octopus, is that it has basically nine 'brains'.
 The octopus's nervous system is a fascinating one. Some two thirds of its neurons reside not in its central brain but out in its flexible, stretchable arms. This, researchers suspect, lightens the cognitive coordination demands and allows octopuses to let their arms do some of the "thinking"—or at least the coordination, problem-solving and reaction—on their own. And these arms can continue reacting to stimuli even after they are no longer connected to the main brain; in fact, they remain responsive even after the octopus has been euthanized and the arms severed.

An Inspiration!

````````The Octopod```````````````````````````````````````````````````````
A space that taking inspiration of  Morphology of the Octopus, with its special characteristic features
of having 9 brains! one central brain in center,  and a brain in each of his eight tentacles!
So each brain is capable of directing and controlling its arm individually,  and all are manageable by the central big brain.
An organisation for a collaborating 8 sections, parties, departments (or maybe more!) as number 8 is just an example soulotion presented by 'Nature!'. This one activates  system of "Federalism". Concept. that each department is controlling itself, working itself out,  in the meantime they are all under that central unit that control and protect all of these departments when needed.
Organic Pavilion
An explosion of shapes and colours:
I  just experienced the the newest organic space in London. Its an explosion of shapes and colours
Organic space that is characterised by simple structure, light, transparency, shadows, lightness, form, sensitivity, change, surprise, colour and materials.
Serpentine Pavilion 2015 designed by Spanish architects couple  Selgascano
The Pavilion is an amorphous, double-skinned, polygonal structure consisting of panels of a translucent, multi-coloured fluorine  woven through and wrapped like webbing.
 specific journey through the space, characterised by colour, light and irregular shapes with surprising volumes. This is accomplished by creating a double-layered shell.
Motion in Model
Motion in Model:
This feature is to be handled in detail in the next phase
The movement in the space is an organic movement simulating the movement of the actual shell.
The holes in the roof of the model are simulating the holes of the actual shell,
they can open and close for climate, and light control.
The body of the model, can be (on one side) lifted open to a
certain degree and closed again giving the space in new perspective.
The Model
Designed Model:
 Developments made to my model, enhanced by features and materials to emphasise:
 ·  The scale of the space.  Scale 1:50
·  Emphasise how it looks from inside, how people would be in such an 'organic space'.
· It's showing the Holes, are in harmonious ‘organic’ curve lines simulating the breathing holes on the actual shell body.
·  Underscore how the holes came into a curvy line! And the function of the holes providing daylight to space. -When needed- also they’re points of LED for after dark.  (Motion, will be revealed later)
·  Showing the Pearl ‘organic feature’ as centre of space, as light source, centre for interactive services. Point of providing a light source of the space shines to reflect on the shining mother of pearl lining of inner wall.
· The LED dimmable-soft blue lights- by the pearl simulating sea colour.
· The Pole that would devise the lifting motion to open and close the space. (Motion is next phase of the practice)
·Presentation of the model, will include Sea wave’s sound effect simulating that design is inspired by the sea shells.
·  Interior design features, concerning the motion of the space, will be revealed in next phase.
The Moving Organic Structure
 The Moving Organic Structure:
As I was doing research on Moving Organic Structures in the UK, as one of the options I could consider is the "motion" action within the organic space.
It is a simulating the motion of an organic creature, like what would happen in Nature
There are many good examples of architect's designs around the world, But we have a very good example here in the UK, a "Rolling Bridge" in Paddington Basin. Rolling Bridge opens by slowly and smoothly curling until it transforms from a conventional, straight bridge, into a circular sculpture which sits on the bank of the canal.
 That brigde could simulate the action of the Caterpillar, or the action of Scorpion tail !!
That bridge is desigened by architect Heatherwick, who got me inspired to have the" motion "of  the organic space I design in my consideration .
like for example, opining or floating or rolling or elevating the roof to open and close in my organic space
where that simulates the motion of an organic element in nature.
But that is  just a consideration.
How does Organic Space feel inside?
How it feels in an Organic Space?
A walking tour in one of the organic spaces I visited recently, which is "Roca Gallery" in London
By Zaha Hadid Architects
How can Organic element influence the Organic space design?
The design is inspired by the various phases and states of water. Water acts as
 the transformational element moving across the façade, carving out the interior and moving through the main gallery as individual drops.
It is Organic
